Relationship between density of fluid and temperature and pressure: the density of gas decreases with the increase of temperature and increases with the increase of pressure. The density of liquid mainly decreases with the increase of temperature and has little relationship with pressure.

Classification of flowmeter

According to the most popular and extensive classification at present, it can be divided into: positive displacement flowmeter, differential pressure flowmeter, rotameter, turbine flowmeter, electromagnetic flowmeter, fluid oscillation flowmeter (including vortex flowmeter and mass flowmeter) and plug-in flowmeter.
General knowledge of mass flowmeter
Application of mass flowmeter: since the mass flowmeter measures the mass flow of fluid, it is not affected by the changes of fluid temperature, pressure, density and other parameters, and has high measurement accuracy (up to 0.1%), there is no requirement for straight pipe section. In some occasions where accurate measurement and strict control of feed are required and when used for trade settlement for measurement, the mass flowmeter is often used for flow measurement, But because of its high price, it is not widely used.

A. Before the mass flowmeter is put into use, check whether its installation meets the requirements, whether the pipeline is purged and whether the pressure test has been completed;
B. Power on and preheat for 30 minutes, then start the fluid operation until the sensor temperature is equal to the operating temperature of the fluid. When the downstream valve is cut off and there is no leakage and the pipe is full, adjust the flowmeter to 0;
C. Open the upstream and downstream valves, close the bypass valve, and put the flowmeter into use;
D. When the flowmeter is out of service, open the blowdown valve for the medium that is easy to scale and drain the medium in the flowmeter. Application of vortex flowmeter: vortex flowmeter is a vortex separation flowmeter made by using the principle of natural oscillation of fluid. The vortex frequency is proportional to the flow rate of fluid. The commonly used vortex generator is a triangular column with low output frequency. When the vortex flowmeter is used for measurement, the Reynolds number of the fluid is required to be between 20000 and 7000000, and the flow rate must be within the specified range. Different calibers have different flow rate requirements, and the flow rate requirements for liquid phase, gas phase and steam are different; The instrument has the requirement of straight pipe section, which is generally used for the measurement of clean low viscosity media with a measurement accuracy of 1%.
Installation requirements of vortex flowmeter:
A. Installed on the straight pipe with stable flow velocity distribution, the length of the straight pipe section at the upstream side shall be greater than 20d, and the length of the straight pipe section at the downstream side shall be greater than 5D;

Installation requirements for metal tube rotameter: the conical tube of the metal tube rotameter must be installed vertically and not tilted. D. The fluid flow basically does not change with time and is not suitable for pulsating flow and critical flow conditions;

The orifice plate throttling device flowmeter consists of three parts: orifice plate, pressure tapping flange or ring chamber and differential pressure transmitter. The orifice plate is used to throttle to generate differential pressure, the pressure tapping flange or ring chamber is used to take out the fluid pressure before and after the orifice plate, and the differential pressure transmitter is used to measure the pressure difference before and after the orifice plate to achieve the purpose of measuring the fluid flow through the orifice plate.
Installation requirements of orifice throttling device flowmeter:
A. The installation of throttling device requires the straight pipe section with the first 10 times and the last 5 times of the pipe diameter;
B. The front end surface of the throttle and its clamping flange shall be perpendicular to the pipeline axis, and the opening of the throttle and the clamping flange shall be concentric with the pipeline;
